Joan Adler

Since opening the Los Angeles office for Syracuse University in April, 2005, Joan has been instrumental in growing the office to include an Admissions director and the "SULA Semester" program. She has engaged hundreds of Syracuse University alumni throughout LA and across the West Coast, creating alumni events in the fields of entertainment, academics, athletics, and more.

A native of Syracuse, Joan received a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College and master’s degree from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Immediately after graduating, Joan moved to LA to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, heading the leading post-production facility in the country, The Post Group. In 1990, she became a member of the Syracuse University Newhouse Advisory Board, and in 1992, the Chair of the Board, holding the position for nearly 10 years. Joan is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Women in Film, and CASE.
